From Sid Grant History of Coalfields Soccer
Season 1909 was an uneventful one for Weston but the club co-operated with other Coalfield clubs to stage the West Australia v Coalfield XI at Maitland in May. Weston's two representatives were A. McNaughton and W. Ashman.
The arrival in Weston of former English player, Bill Hindmarsh, proved a boon to the club. Colours were changed to black and white stripes with black knickers. The team re-entered the senior ranks and players registered were - Bondi Neal, A. Lavender, C. Cartwright, J. Bullawell, A. McNaughton, A. Cook, A. Jennings, J. O'Brien, J. Barnes, C. Burn and J. Jowett.
